Global Week, Local Mission
World Space Week commemorates the beginning of the space age and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty. Uganda's 2026 campaign translates that global moment into local engineering, astronomy, Earth observation, and innovation experiences.
Bring the strongest space education, engineering, astronomy, policy, and innovation experiences into one national programme.
Align communities, universities, companies, student branches, and national organisers around a shared calendar and public story.
Turn WSW into a launchpad for year-round participation, prototypes, clubs, partnerships, and serious ecosystem growth.
Programme Model
The national plan moves from broad public inspiration into practical tracks, technical showcases, and an outdoor astronomy experience.
Earth Observation
Earth observation, climate, water, food security, and Uganda's space journey through practical satellite-data applications.
Lead: StellarView, NOAS, Uganda Astronomical Society, GIS community, and partner universities
Aerospace Engineering
Mechanical rocket engineering demonstrations, launch systems, propulsion concepts, and safe simulations.
Lead: NOA's Quest, Nakuja Project, and Uganda Astronomical Society
Frontier Space Systems
Satellite communications, AI, robotics, astrobiology, space medicine, and planetary engineering.
Lead: Space Junkies Uganda, NOAS, Nakuja Project, Uganda Astronomical Society, NOA, and university partners
Astronomy
A standalone evening experience with telescopes, astrophotography stations, constellation tours, and public night-sky interpretation.
Lead: Uganda Astronomical Society
Delivery Discipline
The 2026 plan is structured for national coordination, sponsor readiness, safety, press, official registration, and post-event reporting.
The refined plan favours mechanical demonstrations, simulations, exhibits, and controlled learning experiences instead of risky live rocket launches.
